I designed a dwelling for an imaginary fishery biologist in an Ithacan gorge. The house is modeled around the biologist’s activities; since he studies fish populations native to Ithaca, his home is embedded in the waterfall and is constantly surrounded by his field of interest. Each floor and corresponding staircase is oriented with the topographical angle at its level, aligning the structure and circulation patterns of its inhabitants with the adjacent natural elements.
