This project called for the production of an appliance through which human interaction allows one to indirectly create drawings. My machine consists of a frame supporting a set of tubes. A string runs through each which is tied to cuffs meant for the head and wrists. When the user pulls the cuffs, the strings disconnect magnetic caps from the tubes, allowing sand and glue to fall onto the paper. The path of the user’s dance is emulated on the paper in a coagulation of temporal occurrences.
